The National Center for Data Mining at UIC is hosting a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). Students will work on one of the following two projects:
1. SECTOR - High performance Peer-to-Peer Storage System for Scientific Data.
2. ANGLE - Distributed Data Mining System to Identify Emergent Behavior in Computer Network Data.

Industry Researcher Needs ACM Student Gamers

Chatter Inc. is coming to UCLA during the week of April 14th to conduct paid research for the video game industry. ACM members will be paid $100 for a 2 hour discussion about the games they like to play. They are looking for students that spend quite a few hours playing video games since they will be discussing several different titles.

women interested in possibilities in computer science research.

The department will provide support up to $300 for travel expenses (local expenses are covered at the event) to up to 5 students. The first five to register will receive the support.

The first five women undergrads to contact Brenda (bramirez@cs.ucla.edu) will be eligible to receive the travel support.
